Overview

Are you ready to kickstart your freelance career but not sure where to begin?

In this 90-minute workshop, you’ll learn how to uncover your sellable skills, develop a personal brand, and promote yourself to your dream clients.

Whether you’re just starting out or looking to level up your freelancing game, this session will give you practical tools and insights that you can put to work immediately.

You’ll walk away with a clearer idea of how to promote yourself and take the first steps toward building a freelance career you love.

Who it’s for

This workshop is open to students, staff and recent graduates (within 2 years of graduating) who are in the early stages of their freelancing journey or just keen to learn more.

What you'll learn

This workshop will help you learn:

  • what a personal brand truly means and why it's essential for freelancers
  • how to identify what makes you unique and start crafting your own personal brand
  • how to discover your sellable skills and market them in a way that grabs attention and meets your dream clients' needs
  • why self-promotion is a key part of your freelance journey and how to market yourself online with confidence
  • actionable tips and best practices – from building your website, and crafting engaging social media profiles, to writing newsletters that connect with your dream clients

About the tutor

Kim Darragon is a marketing expert and the founder of Kim Does Marketing, a consultancy for startups and small businesses. She specialises in helping all founders – particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds – grow their profiles. Over the past 16 years, Kim has led marketing activities, organised successful events, and boosted the profiles of businesses in diverse industries.
