Xiuqi started his Ph.D. at UCL in 2019. His research interest is exploring data-driven models coupled with computational fluid dynamics in the field of fire safety from different scales. The approach aims to establish a reliable, rapid and precise system to support the response to large-scale fire emergencies ultimately.
He is now focusing on establishing appropriate droplet combustion and fire spread models to enable data assimilation from microgravity to normal gravity conditions.
Xiuqi has a background in fire safety engineering. Before joining UCL, he achieved a bachelor’s degree in fire safety engineering. He also assisted to investigate Grenfell Tower fire briefly.
