Two
researchers in the Research Department of Epidemiology and Public Health have
been awarded New Investigator Grants from the
esrc.ac.uk/" target="_blank">ESRC. New Investigator
Grants support junior academics to become independent researchers. Dr. Rebecca
Lacey will be investigating early life adversity, its clustering and
associations with life course health. Dr. Afshin Zilanawala plans to examine
nonstandard work schedules in the UK and their health implications for children
and parents. From 131 proposals, Dr Lacey and Dr Zilanawala's
proposals are two of only eleven funded thus far under
the scheme. Both projects have received funding in the region
of £300,000, and will commence in January 2018. Rebecca and
Afshin will be mentored by Prof. Yvonne Kelly. Congratulations to both!
