Current Research
Identifying groups of people who have similar responses to different sets of incentives (extrinsic - financially backed digital currency, communication - feedback against goals, support, peer reports etc) to motivate increased physical activity.
Altering incentive levels and mix over time as people move between groups depending upon their readiness to change, responsiveness to reward and other personality/situational/cultural factors?
Design of algorithms that identify these patterns and the interactions between them, to match incentives and communication, to personality type, readiness to change and responsiveness to reward, to optimize outcomes and improve the matching of rewards to behaviour over time.
