Current Research
My PhD mainly focus on the role of polypharmacy in Type 2 diabetes people. Polypharmacy has become a prevalence due to current diabetic guideline and the increasing ageing population. My study will investigate the effectiveness and rationality of polypharmacy among Type 2 diabetes people. Meanwhile, long-term glycaemic management and polypharmacy may cause additional stress on people's mental health and subsequently decreases their quality of life. Therefore, the possible negative effects on both physical and psychological aspects caused by polypharmacy are also an issue in my research. The data is from the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA), and full medication profile is established in 2012 and 2017, respectively. This PhD is supervised by Professor Andrew Steptoe and Dr. Paola Zaninotto.
