Cancellations of teaching sessions by the department
Sometimes placements need to be cancelled due to an emergency or a change in students' circumstances. In the unlikely event of a cancellation, the department will:
- notify the practice and GP tutors involved as soon as possible
- pay 25% of the agreed teaching rate, if the placement is cancelled 2 weeks or less before placement starting date.
Cancellation of teaching sessions by the practice
We do understand that practice circumstances can sometimes change unpredictably, but ask you to consider any cancellation of teaching very carefully as this causes considerable disruption to all. Please could we ask you to:
- Arrange internal cover whenever possible
- Give as much notice as possible if cancellation proves unavoidable
- Contact our administration team to discuss the situation causing you to consider cancellation as soon as you are aware of a problem
- In an emergency, please phone/email the course administrator giving as much notice as possible
