Advance contact with your Student
Students should contact their allocated practice 4 weeks before their placement starts. This aims to allow the practice and GP tutor plenty of time to prepare for and plan the placement, including any necessary materials and the timetable.
Students are advised to contact their practice by email or phone to introduce themselves and check on any arrival arrangements. If a student is away on an elective immediately before their placement, they should contact their practice beforehand.
The aim of advance contact is to improve the quality of the attachment both for the student and the tutor. Please contact us, if you have not heard from your student at least 3 weeks before the rotation.
