UCL European Institute awarded prestigious Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence status by the European Commission.

The European Institute, UCL's hub for research, collaboration and information on Europe and the European Union, has been awarded a prestigious Jean Monnet award by the European Commission. The award recognises the Institute as a 'Centre of Excellence' in the field of European studies and allows for the expansion of its research agenda through new and innovative research projects.

Until summer 2019, the Institute will develop five projects on themes as diverse as migration, legitimacy, sovereignty, LGBTQ rights and 'democracy fatigue'. More information will become available soon on our Projects page.


To celebrate the award the Institute is hosting an event on Wednesday, 19 October, 6.30pm, on 'Negotiating Brexit: Key Challenges Ahead'. Staff, students and members of the public and all welcome.
