Dr Ashley Riggs, Swiss National Science Foundation Research Fellow, 2017

Ashley Riggs will join CenTraS on 1 September 2017 to conduct research on representations of French society in non-French media, mentored by Dr Federico M. Federici. Her project, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, is entitled "(Re)Constructing French society in and through language: representations of France in Suisse romande, British and Spanish newspaper reporting on Muslims and recent terrorist activity in France". Dr Riggs' project further expands CenTras' activities focused on the role of translation in crises.
