Below I have included my top 5 choices for student societies to join at UCL to upskill and advance your career!

1. University College London United Nations Association (UCLUNA)

The United Nations Association (UNA) in the United Kingdom has an official branch at University College London (UCL). That branch is known as the University College London United Nations Association (UCLUNA).

UCLUNA's mission is to educate the UCL community about the UN's work and to give students the chance to get involved. In addition to sending delegations to prominent Model United Nations (MUN) conferences in the United Kingdom and beyond, UCLUNA also collaborates with local secondary schools to teach youths essential professional skills. UCLUNA was also one of the first organisations to join the United Nations Association Youth Platform of the United Kingdom.

UCLUNA welcomes students of all degree programmes, interests, backgrounds and experience levels to join the community. This student society also provides a variety of opportunities to students, such as volunteering programs, MUN conferences, and other skill-development workshops.

2. Volunteering Society

Volunteering is an important way for students to develop skills, make a positive impact, build relationships, enhance personal growth and strengthen their resumes and their college applications. It is a valuable investment in both personal and professional development that can pay dividends for years to come. The UCL Volunteering Society (VolSoc) is a student-run society with a mission to increase student participation in community service. VolSoc provides students with one-time volunteer projects that appeal to a wide range of interests and provide venues for student volunteers with similar goals to meet and network with one another.
