UCL PhD students in all fields can apply for a short-term research internship at Université Paris Science et Lettres (PSL).
As a doctoral research intern, you will have the opportunity to gain international research experience as an integrated member of a research team at PSL. Any of PSL’s schools are eligible as a host institution, provided you have identified a specific lab or research group willing to host you for the duration.
During your stay at PSL, you are free to pursue any research activities related to your thesis.
You will receive financial assistance from UCL towards accommodation in Paris and travel between London and Paris. Please check the immigration regulations between the United Kingdom and France before travelling.
The programme is supported by a tripartite agreement signed in February 2024 between PSL, UCL and the French Embassy in the UK.
Conditions of application
- Proposed internships must take place between 1 October and 15 December 2024.
- The duration of the proposed internship should be between 4 and 8 weeks.
- Applicants must have the written confirmation of a PSL research lab or host supervisor to ensure that they can be integrated within its structure for the whole duration of their stay.
- Once internship dates have been confirmed, they should not be altered.
How to apply
The application deadline has now closed.
Applications will be reviewed by a panel of representatives from UCL, PSL and the French Embassy in the UK.
Applicants can expect to receive a decision on their application by 3 June 2024.
