Ed Palmer is a clinician working in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine. He is undertaking a PhD in clinical data science at UCL. His thesis explores the physiological trajectories of patients with severe infection inside intensive care. His research interests include using routinely collected healthcare data and repurposing it for research, particularly in areas where a traditional randomised controlled trial would be challenging, expensive or unethical. Outside work he is particularly interested in food, running and politics.
