Mental health and wellbeing
Mental health training at UCL - find out what’s available through MHFA England and who can deliver the training to you or your department.
Guidance for Managers on having Wellbeing Conversations - managing people requires a variety of skills. Explore the legal side of mental wellbeing and best practice approaches to starting conversations.
Leading Wellbeing Conversations course - this session will give managers a greater understanding of mental health and wellbeing issues.
Supporting Others - explore the common themes to consider when supporting others with their wellbeing in the workplace.
Managing Your Own Self-Care and Wellbeing - this self-paced course looks at different techniques, tools and tips that may have a positive impact upon your mental wellbeing. Just like physical wellbeing, we need to constantly monitor our mental health.
Listening skills - this interactive session will give you a better understanding of the power of active listening, the barriers to listening and increased confidence in utilising listening skills. Supporting students' mental health
Charlie Waller Memorial Trust training - designed for all staff in university settings, who are not in specialised roles in mental health. The training aims to build you confidence in supporting students around mental health. Each session takes around 20-minutes to complete.
Mental health first aid for Higher Education (N.B link specifically to MHFA for HE section on this page) - suitable for anyone who works or studies at UCL, in particular those who are student facing members of staff.
Supporting PGR Mental Health and Wellbeing - designed to help supervisors recognise indicators of mental health problems and potential triggers.

Suicide First Aid Training Lite: Complete training with the UCL preffered supplier. Developed by the National Centre for Suicide Prevention, the 3.5 hour Suicide First Aid Course gives participants practical skills they can use to prevent someone dying from suicide.
