Biography
Alan received his Ph.D in 2017, from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) where he was member of TeleMídia Lab led by Luiz F.G. Soares, and received his master degree, in 2012 from the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), where he was member of Lavid Lab led by Guido Lemos. Working in both labs, he coordinated interactive multimedia research projects, participated in TV standard committees, (ITU/SBTVD), and contributed to Ginga-NCL standards (ITU H.761, NBR 15606-2).
In 2021, he joined UCL as a postdoc in the Learning And Signal Processing (LASP) Lab led by Laura de Toni to work on Streaming Optimization for immersive media. His research interests are in the areas of interactive multimedia, immersive media, and adaptative streaming.
