Join ICCS: 4 position in Optical Networks, Building an Intelligent Optical infrastructure
5 June 2019
We currently have four positions for Research Fellows for the project: Transforming networks - building an intelligent optical infrastructure (TRANSNET)
Author Polina Bayvel, Professor and Co-Director ICCS
Optical Networks | Artificial Intelligence | Optical Communications | Digital Signal Processing
We wish to recruit four Research/Senior Research Fellows funded for 3 years in the first instance.
The successful candidates will work on the recently awarded Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Programme grant: Transforming networks - building an intelligent optical infrastructure (TRANSNET).
The main purpose of the posts are to carry out world-leading research on the goals of the TRANSNET programme. The aim of TRANSNET is to create an adaptive, intelligent optical networks, to dynamically provide data capacity where and when it is needed. The programme is composed of 4 research themes (RT), each addressing key research challenges in building intelligent optical networks.
- RT1 - Intelligent network architectures
- RT2 - Evolving transceiver intelligence & digital signal processing
- RT3 - Learning algorithms for optical networking
- RT4 - Experimental demonstration of intelligent networks
Duration:
The posts are available from as soon as possible for a period of 3 years in the first instance. Extension of the duration of the posts may be possible.
