Amsterdam: Cerebrovascular Disease

In Amsterdam, there were 6,697 deaths from cerebrovascular disease (diseases associated with the blood vessels supplying the brain) over the study period (1996 - 2008).  This figure consists of 2,498 male deaths and 4,199 female deaths and is based on data from the Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek (Statistics Netherlands).  The spatial distribution of mortality due to cerebrovascular disease in Amsterdam is demonstrated in the maps below, shown separately for men and women.  For further information about how these maps were created, please visit the methodological section of the Atlas.
