In Amsterdam, there were 1,767 deaths from colon
cancer over the study period (1996 - 2008). This figure consists of 805
male deaths and 962 female deaths and is based on data from the Centraal Bureau
voor de Statistiek (Statistics Netherlands). The spatial distribution of
mortality due to colon cancer in Amsterdam is demonstrated in the maps below,
