Barcelona: Falls

In Barcelona, there were 696 deaths from falls over the study period (2000 - 2008).  This figure consists of 436 male deaths and 260 female deaths and is based on data from the Mortality Registry of Catalonia.  The spatial distribution of mortality due to falls in Barcelona is demonstrated in the maps below for women only. Men have been excluded from this analysis, as male deaths from falls did not occur in at least 30 percent of Barcelona's small areas during the study period.  For further information about how these maps were created, please visit the methodological section of the Atlas.
