Barcelona: Ischaemic Heart Disease

In Barcelona, there were 13,301 deaths from ischaemic heart disease (diseases associated with the blood vessels supplying the heart) over the study period (2000 - 2008).  This figure consists of 7,412 male deaths and 5,889 female deaths and is based on data from the Mortality Registry of Catalonia.  The spatial distribution of mortality due to ischaemic heart disease in Barcelona is demonstrated in the maps below, shown separately for men and women.
