In Stockholm, there were 2,224 deaths from Alzheimer's disease over the study period (2000 - 2007). This figure consists of 725 male deaths and 1,499 female deaths and is based on register data from Statistics Sweden linked to death records from the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare. The spatial distribution of mortality due to Alzheimer's disease in Stockholm is demonstrated in the maps below, shown separately for men and women.
