Professor Alimuddin Zumla receives knighthood

Professor Zumla received a knighthood for his services to public health.

Professor Sir Alimuddin (Ali) Zumla, has been honoured by Her Majesty the Queen in her 2017 Birthday Honours list with a knighthood (KBE) for his services to public health and protection from infectious diseases.
Professor Zumla was made a Knight Bachelor of The Most Excellent Order (KBE), conferring the title of 'Sir' and is the highest civilian honour accorded by the Queen.
