In this talk, Dr Ellery Weil will discuss how Jewish women in Europe and the United States interacted with the beginnings of the feminist movement at the end of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth century, including in secular contexts such as the suffrage movement, and religious contexts, including the ordination of women as rabbis.

About the Speaker

Ellery Weil

Historian

Ellery Weil is a historian specializing in Jewish women's activism on the international stage at the turn of the twentieth century. She completed her PhD at UCL, "Jews, Women, Countrywomen: Alliance-Building and the Jewish Women's Movement at the Turn of the Twentieth Century" in December 2023.
