A book launch for 'Stefan Themerson' (edited by Jasia Reichardt, published by the Themerson Estate, January 2023). This book is the first collection of essays in English about the filmmaker, writer, poet, thinker and publisher, and his consistently independent attitude to ethics, humour and language. Themerson was born in Poland in 1910, but spent most of his life in London where he died in 1988.
The speakers will be Jasia Reichardt, Neal Ascherson and Rod Mengham, with Dennis Duncan as chair.
