This workshop is designed to give you a breakthrough with a piece of academic writing you are finding difficult, whether it be a thesis chapter or an article you’re revising or a book proposal or whatever. It will be led by Nicola Baldwin, writer and director of theatre and film, and Nicola Miller, Director of the IAS and historian of Latin America, to bring together expertise in creative practice and experience in academic evaluation. The workshop will encourage you to find a through line in your intentions which will allow your project to become unstuck. Please bring along a piece of writing and come prepared to explain the difficulties you are having with it. We will all do a series of exercises to help us become unstuck and make progress. We will compare notes, and plan ahead with our writing, hopefully with new tools to support our work.
