This seminar explores the depth and breadth of American Christian women’s involvement in right-wing politics – past and present – to show how they sustain, influence, and direct the religiopolitical entwinement in the country in undeniable ways.

Examining this population sheds light on another constitutive element in the constellation of the US right, and also invites theoretical discussion on gender identity and the complicated interplay of feminism/anti-feminism across the global Right.

This in-person event will be particularly useful to those with interests in religion, politics and gender, those who are researchers in the social sciences and humanities, and policymakers.
