31 May 2023

A recording of Professor Tabrizi’s recent Medical Research Council (MRC) Millennium Medal lecture is now available to view.

Professor Tabrizi receives 2022 MRC Millennium Medal

On Tuesday 10 March, Professor Tabrizi received the 2022 MRC Millennium Medal at a ceremony in Birmingham. The prize recognises her outstanding achievements in medical research, including her pioneering work to advance the understanding and translation of therapies for neurodegeneration - in particular, Huntington’s disease. The 2022 award is shared between Professor Tabrizi and biotechnologist Professor Lisa Hall (University of Cambridge).

As part of the award ceremony, Professor Tabrizi was invited to present the MRC Medal lecture. We are delighted to share a recording of this below. The lecture titled ‘Genetic therapies for Huntington’s disease: challenges and opportunities’ outlines her work in this area and pays tribute to the critical role that patients, families and the wider Huntington’s disease community have played in this ground breaking research.
