Finance and Research Administrator post at the IoO

We have an opportunity for a Finance and Research Administrator to support the Finance and Research Manager and Lab Management Team in administering financial processing and procurement requirements at the IoO.

Job Details

The Finance and Research Administrator is a key member of the Finance and Research Team, who will provide comprehensive administrative support to deliver an efficient and effective day-to-day finance and research administration service at the Institute of Ophthalmology (IoO). The post holder is required to work both independently and in collaboration with colleagues within IoO and UCL, and externally to ensure the Institute’s financial and operational activities are effectively and proactively supported.

The post holder will be responsible for pre-award costing of grant applications using UCL’s research management system, Worktribe. The person will support the Finance and Research Manager and Lab Management Team in administering financial processing and procurement requirements.  Amongst other duties they will assist with the process of foreign payments, raise invoices and purchase orders, and process expense claims.

The duration of this role is open ended
 

Key Requirements

The post holder must have research administration experience, a good general education to degree level (or equivalent) or have significant experience in Higher Education or similar environments. They would also need knowledge of funding processes and regulations and experience in research administration.

A high level of numeracy is also essential, along with good IT skills (Microsoft office, spreadsheets, databases, email, internet, etc.)
