Personal Assistant to work with Professor Moosajee

About the role

An enthusiastic and resourceful individual is sought for this part-time Personal Assistant (PA) post. The post holder will provide the full range of professional PA, administrative and organisational support to Professor Mariya Moosajee. This will include scheduling and diary management, meeting preparation, drafting formal correspondence, record keeping, making travel arrangements etc. As an active member of the clinical academic team, the post-holder will be required to liaise with clinicians, researchers, administrative staff and post-graduate students from UCL, Moorfields Eye Hospital and the Francis Crick Institute, and relevant professional organisations in and outside UCL including funding bodies and charities.

This role will require an individual with outstanding communication and organisational skills who can actively engage and enhance the functioning of the research group. They will need to understand the research projects and be able to liaise with the team to compile research reports and support grant administration. They should be able to work under pressure with a minimum of supervision. Tact and discretion are essential.

The post is available for 3 years in the first instance.

This is a part-time role at 0.5FTE (18.25hrs per week). Flexible working arrangements are available. 

This post is not eligible for visa sponsorship. 

About you

The PA will provide efficient and timely professional PA services to Professor Mariya Moosajee. The post holder must establish systems to maximise efficiency, anticipating administrative needs and ensuring that all work is produced to a high standard and meets specified deadlines. The PA will be working closely with the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology (IoO) administrative teams including HR, finance and lab managers.

The PA will be expected to work flexibly in support of Professor Mariya Moosajee. This job description reflects the present requirements of the post, and as duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the post holder. The job description cannot be exhaustive and so the post holder will carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by Professor Moosajee. The post holder will adhere to and actively follow all UCL policies
