Notification of Scheduled Power Shutdowns at UCL East

30 August 2024

Staff and students at UCL East should be aware of scheduled power shutdowns on 07/09/2024 and 14/09/2024.

UCL East Campus Infrastructure and Operations & Vinci FM are intending to carry out two separate power shutdowns that will affect the UCL East campus on 7 and 14 September from 08:00 to 11:00. These temporary shutdowns are necessary to perform essential maintenance to our electrical systems, ensuring continued safety and reliability. These initial shutdowns will also be used to confirm back-up supplies and auto-changeover systems operate correctly which are crucial for contingency planning for any external power losses that are outside of the control of UCL East.

IT Services in these locations will be affected during these periods. This will include the Digital Accessibility Hubs and eduroam and general internet availability in these locations.

Please Note: Access will be limited to essential operational staff and the buildings closed to public and visitors until 11am on these dates.

During the Shutdown:
Emergency lighting will be operational in common areas.

Escalators and Lifts will be out of service during the shutdown period.

Post-Shutdown:
WiFi & Internet should be restored within 30 minutes of the building being re-energised.

Once power is restored, check your appliances and equipment to ensure they have resumed normal operation.

Report any issues via the helpdesk UCLEASTCAMPUSSERVICES@VINCIFACILITIES.COM
