Phaser 3635 MFD - How to load paper

Up to three paper trays can be installed in the machine, depending on the configuration. The process for loading the paper trays is the same for all trays, with the exception of the Bypass Tray.

NOTE: To reduce the occurrence of paper jams:

  • Do not fill the paper trays above the Maximum Fill Line. The paper trays can hold a maximum of 520 sheets of 80 g/m2 / 20 lb bond paper.
  • Before loading paper in the trays, fan the edges of the stack of paper. This separates any sheets of paper that are stuck together, and reduces the occurrence of paper jams.
  • Use only high quality copier-grade paper. Avoid paper with embossed lettering, perforations or texture that is too smooth or too rough. Only use paper that is recommended for use with this machine. See the Related Items below for additional information.

To load paper in Paper Tray 1 or 2:

1. Carefully pull out the paper tray, taking care not to let the tray fall when removing it from the machine.

NOTE: If loading letterhead, load the preprinted side face-down, and so that the top (leading) edge of the paper is toward the front of the tray.

4. If necessary, adjust the side Paper Edge Guide to the required paper width. To move the guide, squeeze the guide and slide it toward the stack of paper until it gently touches the side of the stack. Do not allow the guide to press against the edge of the paper tightly
