GDPR and Clinical Research Consultative Committee set up

Chaired by Prof Nick Freemantle, and with members drawn from academic divisions and research management the committee aims to:

• provide a consultative forum for stakeholders in clinical research to discuss data protection issues
• review high risk or complex studies and agreed risk mitigation plans
• prepare advice for investigators on best practice for data protection issues, including privacy by design, privacy impact assessments and information security
• develop shared understanding for data sharing and processing with UCL's partner NHS Trusts.

Outputs from the committee will be communicated via the JRO news pages and newsletter.
