GDPR and Clinical Research Consultative Committee set up
26 October 2018
A new UCL committee has been set up to deal with the implications of the GDPR for clinical research.
Chaired by Prof Nick Freemantle, and with members drawn from academic divisions and research management the committee aims to:
- provide a consultative forum for stakeholders in clinical research to discuss data protection issues
- review high risk or complex studies and agreed risk mitigation plans
- prepare advice for investigators on best practice for data protection issues, including privacy by design, privacy impact assessments and information security
- develop shared understanding for data sharing and processing with UCL's partner NHS Trusts.
Outputs from the committee will be communicated via the JRO news pages and newsletter.
