What significance have the citation of Justinians Sentences?

Ignacio Czeguhn is Professor of Civil Law, German, European and Comparative Legal History at the Free University of Berlin. He has a long-standing research expertise in the legal history of the Spanish peninsula, which is reflected in his prize-winning doctoral thesis on the Castilian Supreme Judiciary 1250-1520, and in his current research project on water jurisdiction in Spain between the Roman Empire and the islamic period.
