International Insolvency Law Moot named in honour of Professor Ian Fletcher QC

16 December 2016

UCL

The INSOL International, the International Insolvency Institute and Queensland University of Technology established the Ian Fletcher International Insolvency Law Moot Competition (the Fletcher Moot) which will run between 15 and 17 March 2017 in Sydney, Australia.

The Fletcher Moot welcomes universities from around the world to participate in a mooting competition dealing with international insolvency litigation.

Professor Ian Fletcher, Emeritus Professor of International Commercial Law and Principal Research Associate at UCL Faculty of Laws, said:

‘The Fletcher International Insolvency Law Moot is an inspired innovation on the part of two international organisations, INSOL International and the International Insolvency Institute. It will provide an exceptional opportunity for law students aspiring to a career with international commercial aspects to learn about international insolvency law and international commercial litigation through participating in a professionally-conducted mooting competition alongside teams from many parts of the world.

I personally feel deeply honoured that my name is to be associated with this competition, and I hope that future generations of students will be inspired to involve themselves in the challenging, but intellectually fulfilling, world of international insolvency law.’
