Dr Alex Mills delivers lecture at ‘Global Forum on Private International Law’ in China

Dr Alex Mills, Reader in Public and Private International Law at UCL Faculty of Laws, recently delivered an invited lecture at the ‘Global Forum on Private International Law’ in Wuhan, China, held on 22-23 September 2017. His lecture, entitled ‘The Hague Judgments Project: Back to the Future’, examined the historical and theoretical significance of the prospective international convention on the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments which is being developed at the Hague Conference on Private International Law.

The theme of the Global Forum was ‘Cooperation for Common Progress: The Evolving Role of Private International Law’. It was hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China and the China Society of Private International Law, and organised by the Wuhan University Institute of International Law with the support of the Hague Conference on Private International Law.
