The students also visited the International Criminal Court and the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal as part of the trip to The Hague.
On 27-29 March 2023, a group of 20 LLM students at UCL Laws travelled to The Hague, Netherlands for the annual trip organised by the Centre for International Courts and Tribunals at UCL Laws.
This year, a group of students taking the Law and Policy of International Courts and Tribunals and International Criminal Law modules held meetings at the International Court of Justice with Judges Yusuf (Somalia), Charlesworth (Australia), and Tomka (Slovakia), at the International Criminal Court with Judge Schmitt (Germany), and also visited the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal.
Led by Luis Viveros (PhD Candidate and Teaching Fellow at UCL Laws), the students also interacted with clerks and staff from these institutions and had the opportunity to ask questions about careers in international law to judges and practitioners, including UCL Laws alumni. The trip was coordinated by Luis Viveros from the UCL Centre for International Courts and Tribunals.
