Collection of 1000 marble pieces and other polished stones, assembled by Faustino Corsi of Rome and purchased by Stephen Jarrett in 1827 (in competition with the British Museum, by Jarrett's account for 'a great deal more' than £1000) to present to the University of Oxford.
