Awarded part of the compensation for the enslaved people on Stewart Castle in Trelawny Jamaica. The remainder of the compensation under the claim was awarded to members of the Shedden family, and Lennard's claim came through his wife.
Thomas Barrett Lennard was the eldest son of Sir Thos. Barret Lennard bart., of Bell House [sic] Essex. Banns of marriage were published 12, 19, and 26 June 1825 for Thomas Barrett Lennard widower and Mary Bridger Shedden of Saling Grove Essex at St Marylebone. Mary Bridger Shedden was the daughter and heiress of Bartlet Bridger Shedden of Aldham Hall Suffolk and Mary Shedden Goodrich (the eldest daughter of Bartlet's uncle Bartlet Goodrich of Saling Grove Essex).
Will of Thomas Barrett Lennard of Hyde Park Terrace Middlesex proved 5/9/1856. He predeceased his father, whose will (of Bolhus [sic], Essex) was proved 30/10/1857.
