Biography

Claimed unsuccessfully with Wm Holder under the will of Thomas Dunn for the enslaved people on Lilliput in St James, compensation for whom was awarded to Philip Vaughan (q.v.) as mortgagee. Sarah Dunn (q.v.) received a smaller award for the same estate under St James claim no. 668. Conceivably the same woman as the Charlotte Burke who was the recipient of two small awards in Trelawny.

  1. In 1837 Charlotte Burke was in London. It is not known whether she travelled here temporarily in pursuit of compensation money or whether she moved to England permanently. Henry Burke (b. 1798) living on Lilliput in 1828, is shown as having married Charlotte Dunn in St James in 1823.
