Brother of Benjamin Alleyne of Tobago (q.v.), from whom his (John George's) children inherited 3/4 of the Sherwood Park estate in Tobago. John George Alleyne appears as registering the enslaved people on Sherwood Park in 1834 and as proving the will of Benjamin Alleyne of Tobago (q.v.) in 1829 in Tobago, when he was described as of Barbados but at present of the said island. In the probate in London in 1832, it was made explicit that John George Alleyne was the same man who appears in the will of Benjamin Alleyne of Tobago as 'my brother George Alleyne'.
