Biography

Trustee of Henry Shirley (q.v.); with his co-trustee Rev. Charles W. Davy (q.v.), Rev. George Porcher was awarded the compensation for Etingdon, Hyde Hall, and Cedar Spring & Glamorgan estates. The background to the trust has not yet been established.

  1. In 1861, George Porcher aged 69, clergyman without cure of souls, born Madras was living with his wife Frances A[melia] also 69 at 45 Bryanston Square with 7 servants. In 1851 the couple were living at Redgrave Hall with daughter Mathilda Louisa aged 24 and son George Du Pre, a barrister aged 27. He left £50,000 on his death at Bryanston Square 16/12/1861.
