Awarded a share of the the compensation for the Fairfield estate in St James Jamaica, and almost certainly the same man as the recipient of part of the compensation for the Retirement estate in Westmoreland.
Born 1776 Albemarle Street died 1853, of Mossley Hall Liverpool. Son of Richard James Lawrence (c. 1745-1830) and Mary daughter of Thomas Hall of Kirkpatrick and Worcester Jamaica, and grandson of Colonel James Lawrence (c. 1709-1756) custos of St James. Married Rose D'Aguilar in 1800 (d. 1857). Father of George Hall Lawrence (q.v.).
Mayor of Liverpool 1823/4, 'merchant of Fairfield and Mossley Hill near Liverpool', left £70,000 on his death.
Lawrence Road, Liverpool 15, was named after him.
His second son, Rev. Charles Washington Lawrence, was born 05/09/1804 and baptised in Liverpool in 1805, and listed in the 4th Form at Eton in 1817. He was living at Sugnall Street, Liverpool, in 1851, 'perpetual curate of St Luke's', with his wife, four children and five female servants. He died in 1861 at Sugnall Street, effects under £35,000.
His third son Sir Arthur Johnstone Lawrence (1809-1892), was born and baptised in Liverpool and became an Army General. He married three times and was living in Farnham, Surrey in 1861 and Battersea in 1871. He lived in Chertsey, Surrey from at least 1881, where he died in 1892, effects £31,319 18s 7d.
In 1882, Rev. Charles D'Aguilar Lawrence (son of Rev. Charles Washington Lawrence, grandson of Charles Lawrence and Rose D'Aguilar) married Agnes Jane Bernard (daughter of Rev. Thomas Dehaney Bernard, granddaughter of Charles Bernard of Frampton Lodge (q.v.)) at the Bernard family seat, Walcot, Somerset. Rev. Charles D'Aguilar Lawrence left £165,708 10s 11d when he died in 1935.
