???? - 11th Apr 1845
Counterclaimed for himself and as attorney of Robert Lucas and others, residuary legatees of Joseph Bush late of London, deceased, mortgagee for £16,000, against the compensation for Mary's Hope in British Guiana. He apparently reached an arrangement (probably a partial payment of the mortgage) with Robert Taitt, an original claimant and the executor of Joseph Bush.
George Augustus Forbes Bush died in Essequebo, on or about the 28th day of January 1846.
Robert Lucas was probably G.A.F. Bush's brother-in-law: a Robert Lucas had married Martha Lucas [sic] Bush 21/07/1830 at Westbury-on-Trym, Gloucestershire. Joseph Bush (q.v.) 'of London' was the Joseph Bush of Stanton Drew Somerset (on the outskirts of Bristol) whose will was proved 28/05/1824.
T71/885 British Guiana No. 313; T71/1254 letter 30/05/1836 to Commissioners from Geo. A. F. Bush, 9 Park Street Bristol, 'having made arrangements for the satisfactory liquidation of the counter-claim which I lodged in Berbice, [I] withdraw [my] counter-claim.'
