William Beckford, partner in the London merchant firm of Beckford & Ranken (q.v.) and almost certainly the son of Francis Love Beckford senior (q.v.).
William Beckford, son of Francis Love Beckford and Johanna Beckford, was baptised at St Marylebone in 1790. William Beckford of Hatchford house Surrey married Marie-Elizabeth Stane in 1822. William Beckford of Hatchford Surrey is identified as the son of Francis Love Beckford in the early 1830s. In 1851 William Beckford aged 61 was living at Ruxley lodge, Claygate, Surrey 'Landed proprietor, Jamaica proprietor and West India merchant', born Middlesex with wife Marie E. 48, children Marie, Joanna, Harriette, and Francis J.B., and brother Francis Beckford, fundholder born Middlesex aged 62. Francis Love Beckford junior (q.v.) died 'formerly of Ruxley lodge' in 1875.
