Slave-owner in Jamaica, apparently resident. Despite his distinctive name, little has been traced of him. Online genealogical sources suggest that he was the son of John Sharp (d. 1829) and Elizabeth Hiatt, a free woman of colour, and that Elizabeth was one of the 'reputed' children of Hon. John Hiatt (q.v.) who was granted some of the rights of English subjects in St Ann in 1780.
