1830 - 1902
Son of John Adams Carter (q.v.) and Selina Grace Adams, born in Jamaica in 1830. Emigrated to Australia in 1853. Member of the Legislative Assembly and director of a number of companies. Treasurer of the Patterson ministry in 1893 and largely blamed for the midhandling the depression crisis which led to the fall of the government in 1894.
