Frances Keenan (née Mackinnon)

Frances Keenan of Wilton Place counterclaimed unsuccessfully on Mackinnnons estate in Antigua as legatee of Wm McKinnon [sic] and Louisa his wife. The William Mackinnon under whose will she claimed was her father (and the grandfather of William Alexander MacKinnon, q.v.), who had married Louisa Vernon and died in 1809.

1. Will of Frances Keenan widow of Boulogne France proved 07/03/1838. Her husband was the Irish portrait painter John Keenan.

1. PROB 11/1892/228; She appears as 'Mrs Keenan' in a letter of Robert Southey dated October 3 1799, Life and correspondence Robert Southey p. 26: the notes mention 'she later resided in France.'
