Owner of the Letterkenny cotton estate in Berbice, described as 'late' in the 1818 Slave Registration.

  1. A Murdoch Dallas was buried at Liverpool aged 45 11/10/1817. David Alston gives life dates of 1774-1816 and highlights the son of Murdoch Dallas and Helen Grant, Alexander Grant Dallas (1816-1882), born in Berbice, who joined Jardine Matheson, was later a director of the Hudsons Bay Company, married Jane Douglas the daughter of James Douglas, the man of colour who became Governor of Vancouver Island in Canada, and himself appears in the Dictionary of Canadian Biography as 'HBC administrator and businessman.'
