David Graham

Father of the artist John Graham Gilbert, and said to have been a West India merchant in Glasgow. Devine showed presumably the same man as 'Graham, David: son of Alex. Graham, merchant in Glasgow. Held shares in Patrick Playfair and Co., West India merchants.' No slave-ownership or mortgage of 'slave-property' in David Graham's own name has yet been traced, but the Playfair family appears in a claim as mortgagees of Drews Hill in Antigua.
