Owner of Konigsburgh estate in St Mary. "An alien born", naturalised in 1745 and granted 300 acres in St George, Jamaica, in 1758.
John Nemhard was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 300 acres of land in St Mary.
His wife Ann Peyton Hamilton was one of two main heirs of her uncle Daniel Peyton (q.v.) from whom she inherited "all those lands that I may have any claim or title to in the parish of St Mary, Jamaica, and more particularly one piece of land whereon my mansion house is erected commonly called Peytons Cope, patented by Thomas Marshall together with 150 acres of land adjoining thereto, being part and parcel of a larger run patented by Valentine Haughton and which I purchased of Joshua Newell and Margaret his wife." John was bequeathed by Daniel Peyton "my tract of land commoly known as Tobarts Ridge and which was patented by my father the late Andrew Peyton, subject neverthe less to be sold for payment of my debts and legacies in case my assets exclusive of these particularly devised should not be deficient."

John Nembhard of the parish of St Mary, co. Middlesex, Jamaica, Esq. Will dated 19/10/1775. To my wife Ann £40 for mourning, plate, jewels, furniturem 2 horses, poultry, hogs, and sheep, and certain slaved (named). I recommend her to reside on my plantation called Konigsburgh and I give her £500 yearly in lieu of dower. To my eldest daughter Ann Payton Edwards, now wife of Edward Edwards, Esq., a mulatto woman and £1200. To my other 3 daughters Lettice Hamilton, Elizabeth Jane and Charlotte Rose Nembhard the like sum at marriage or at age 21. All residue to my friends the Hon. John Ellis, George Seaton and Edward Foord, Esquires, and the Rev. Wm. Williams, upon trust for my 4 sons John Frederick, Ballard Beckford, William E[llis] and Edward Lynch Nembhard, until my youngest son be 21. Trustees to be executors and guardians.
