Daughter of James Gale Senior senior and his wife Letitia nee Martin. James Gale Senior (d. 1797) bequeathed Saltspring in St Elizabeth to his four children as tenants in common.
Letitia Maria Senior married Alfred Estlin, a solicitor, 18/03/1825 in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire (Alfred Estlin, of the city of Bristol, Gentleman, was appointed a Master Extraordinary in the High Court of Chancery in 1814). In 1841 and 1851 she was living on New Street, Somerton, Somerset. Alfred Estlin died of cardiac Asthma, 11/10/1856 at Somerton, age 64. The will of Letitia Maria Estlin formerly of Somerton and afterwards of Clevedon in Somerset, late of 2 Pembroke Place, Clifton, Bristol, widow, who died 12/01/1864 was proved in Bristol 07/03/1864 by her sons Alfred Laird Estlin (of Somerton, solicitor) and John Prior Estlin (of Burnham, Gloucestershire, merchant). Effects under £1500.
Frederick Bernard Senior, Esq., of Hill-rise, Richmond, Surrey, eldest surviving son of the late James Gale Senior, of Richmond, Surrey, and St Elizabeth's, Jamaica, married Agnes Letitia, only daughter of the late Alfred Estlin, Esq., of Somerton, Somerset, 14/09/1867.
Letitia Maria Estlin's father-in-law John Prior Estlin, brother-in-law John Bishop Estlin and niece Mary Estlin all have entries in the ODNB, the latter as 'slavery abolitionist and campaigner for women's rights', none of which mention the connection of Alfred Estlin (son of John Prior Estlin, brother of John Bishop Estlin and uncle of Mary Estlin) to slavery.
